Capital Region’s first high school esports competition

Esports made its way to the Electric City this weekend.  The Gaming Insomniacs League hosted the first-ever high school esports tournament in the Capital Region.

Sixteen local schools with 110 players competed for a $5,000 college scholarship.

Parents of some of the kids involved say they’re happy with where the world of gaming has led their children.

Proctors hosted the event.
